How do you rotate a PDF?
Open the PDF in the rotate tool above, click any page thumbnail to turn it 90 degrees clockwise, or click Rotate all to turn every page, then click Save & Download. The rotation is written into the file, so it holds in every viewer, and the content of the page is not re-encoded or altered.

Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Each thumbnail is its own button: one click turns that page 90 degrees clockwise, two clicks turn it upside down, three turn it 90 degrees counter-clockwise, and a fourth puts it back. The angle shows under the thumbnail, and pages you do not click are saved exactly as they were.
Will the rotation be saved in the file?
Yes. Most PDF viewers rotate only the view on your screen, so the next person who opens the file sees it sideways again. This tool writes the new rotation into the PDF itself, so the pages open the right way up in Acrobat, Preview, browsers, Google Drive and phone viewers.
Does rotating a PDF reduce quality?
No. The tool changes each page's rotation setting, which tells viewers which way up to show it. The text, images and drawings on the page are not touched or re-compressed, so the rotated file looks as sharp as the original and stays about the same size. Text also stays selectable and searchable.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
No. The tool cannot open a PDF that has a password, including one with only an edit password, and shows an error when you drop it in. Remove the password with a reader that knows it, or follow our guide to unlocking a PDF, then rotate the unlocked copy here.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is loaded and rotated in this browser tab with the pdf-lib library, and the thumbnails are drawn on your device with PDF.js. The saved file goes straight to your downloads. Nothing is sent to The Drive AI or any other server, and closing the tab discards it.
