Does compressing a PDF reduce quality?
No. This compressor never touches page content: images keep every pixel and text stays sharp. It saves space only by removing document properties (title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer) and packing the file's internal objects more tightly. The trade-off is that it shrinks some files much less than a lossy compressor would.
Why did my PDF barely get smaller?
Most of a scanned or photo-heavy PDF is image data, and this tool does not re-compress images, so there is little to remove. It does best on files exported from word processors and design tools with loose internal structure. If Saved shows 0%, the file was already tightly packed and the original is the one to keep.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. There is no sign-up, login or email step, nothing to install, and no watermark is added to the result. The page loads the tool, your browser does the work, and the compressed file goes straight to your downloads. The same is true of every other free tool on this site.
Is there an AI PDF compressor?
Compression does not need AI: finding redundant bytes is a fixed calculation, and this tool does it in your browser.
