How it works
Three steps
Connect a work account
Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work or school account. SharePoint reaches other people’s sites, so Microsoft requires your tenant administrator to approve it once. If that is not you, the app hands you the approval link and a request written out, ready to send.
Choose a site and a library
One work account reaches every site it has access to, and none of them is “the” drive. Search sites by name or paste a site URL, then pick the document library. Libraries that hold a Team’s channel files are marked as such.
Import, export, or file in place
Pull a library’s files into The Drive AI for AI organization and full-text search, export organized files back into the library, or point a workflow at a folder and let it rename and move files inside SharePoint.

Yes — and which surface you use decides where those files end up. The assistant in the app works on files in The Drive AI. To reorganize files that stay in SharePoint, use the browser extension or a scheduled workflow.

The assistant organizes files that are in The Drive AI. Import what you need from SharePoint — a whole document library, or single files — and it will rename and file what came in. Your SharePoint is left exactly as it was.
The browser extension
Not yet
The extension runs inside Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox. SharePoint is not one of them yet, so use a scheduled workflow for files that are already filed.

What it can do
Site and library, chosen on purpose
Every other cloud account has one container. A SharePoint account reaches every site in the tenant and every document library on each of them, so nothing is guessed: you name the site and the library, and every browse, import, export, and workflow is scoped to exactly that and nothing else.
Find a site by name
Search sites by name, or paste a site URL and have it resolved. Sites you follow come first. No hunting through a tenant directory for an identifier.
Teams libraries, labelled
Creating a Team silently creates a SharePoint site, and its channels are folders in that site’s library. Those libraries are marked in the picker, so a workflow’s reach is never a surprise.
Filed where it already lives
A workflow watching a library renames and moves files inside SharePoint. Nothing is imported first, and nothing outside the folder you chose is touched.

Questions answered
Yes, once. SharePoint permissions reach other people’s sites, and Microsoft only lets a tenant administrator grant those — no setting on your side changes that. If your connect attempt is refused, the app gives you the approval link, the list of permissions in plain language, and a request message ready to paste into a ticket or email. Your administrator approves once for the whole organization and everyone can connect after that.
No. Connecting registers nothing. A document library is watched only because a workflow names it, and it stops being watched when no workflow does. A tenant with two hundred sites gets two hundred nothings until you build something.
Every site the connected work account already has access to. Your existing SharePoint permissions are the boundary — connecting grants no access the account did not already have. You choose one site and one document library at a time, and each workflow, import, and export is scoped to that choice.
Creating a Team creates a SharePoint site, and the Team’s standard channels are folders inside that site’s document library. So a file dropped in a Teams channel really is a SharePoint file. Libraries that belong to a Team are marked in the picker, and when both integrations see the same upload, a workflow still runs once on it.
Only if you ask. A workflow watching a library renames and moves files inside SharePoint. Files leave the library only when you import them or add a step that saves a copy somewhere you named, and the originals stay put either way.
No. The integration is for SharePoint Online, part of Microsoft 365. On-premises SharePoint Server is not supported.
Legal teams watch a Contracts library so executed agreements are renamed by counterparty and filed by matter. Finance teams route invoices out of a shared library by vendor and amount, holding anything over a limit for approval.
